In order to update and backup your site we require admin access. This allows us to install a backup and maintenance plugin. It also allows us to install and configure WordFence Security. Most backups and maintenance are run remotely. 

The plugins we install and use on your site are WordFence Security, and UpdraftPlus Premium. We also connect WordFence to WordFence Central, for site and security monitoring. 

We recommend our WooCommerce clients upgrade to WordFence Premium, for more robust security and WAF (Web Application Firewall) rules, including country blocking. 

We will update standard WordPress themes, such as 2023 etc. We will not update your active theme, as that may overwrite any customizations you have made.

Divi is an exception as it is also a page-builder. We do update Divi if it is your active theme. 

We make our best effort to update all plugins on your site. However, some premium plugins cannot be updated. We will not update WP Bakery (formerly Visual Composer) for example, as that may break your site. 

We also make a best-effort to update WooCommerce and your WooCommerce plugins. However, we are not responsible for your store setup, web development, or any plugin conflicts or post-update issues. 

We carefully update all plugins and themes manually. This includes testing after updates.  

If your site should break after updates, we will proactively attempt to recover your site to an earlier restore point. We will also notify you of any issues via a support ticket. 

We make  every effort to update sites carefully. However, we are not responsible for issues that may arise from custom scripts and code, outdated themes or plugins, or issues arising from page builders etc.

Under our WC Hosting Plans, you receive Premium Support. This means your support ticket will be responded to before other non-urgent support requests.
